Just 75 miles from Los Angeles, Los Rios Rancho has called California home for over 100 years. The Riley Family runs the orchard that is covered with 200-acres of crisp apples. There are plenty of other things to check out like their farm shop and museum. They also offer hayrides, craft sessions and a petting zoo. It is not only one of the best places to bring your family to pick eight different types of apples, but you can also enjoy all of the other great activities offered here.

Apple Jack Orchard in Delano, Minnesota

The Apple Jack Orchard not far from Minneapolis has 10,000 apple trees that offer 29 different types of delicious apples. The orchard is open year round, but this year they transform into a fun fall festival. Not only can you pick apples, but also squash, pumpkins and raspberries. The spot in Delano also has a corn maze that is 7-acres, a hay barn that is 100-years-old, pony rides and a gift shop. They also serve up snacks at the Apple Pantry Café.

Stribling Orchard in Markahm, Virginia

The Stribling Orchard has been in the same family for over 200 years. Located in beautiful Virginia, they say it is the first place in the state where guests can pick their own apples. Visitors can choose from 20 different apples and the orchard sits on a gorgeous property that is full of interesting history. The farm is from the mid-1700s and visitors get to pick apples while taking in the view of the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains.

Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, Connecticut

Lyman Orchards sits in the rolling hills of Connecticut has been in operating since 1741, making it the 12th oldest business in the country. They offer 12 different types of apples and visitors can also pick pumpkins, peaches and pears. There is also a golf course on the property and a huge corn maze. The Apple Barrel is a farm shop that makes apple cider donuts, pies and breakfast. During the week, Lyman Orchards also holds cooking demonstrations and pumpkin painting.
