Is Target Really Thinking About Serving Cocktails?

A new Taco Bell in Chicago is going to start serving alcohol and now a new Target in Chicago has jumped on the bandwagon. The new store will open this fall and they are considering serving alcohol to customers while they shop.

The store has already applied for liquor licenses to be able to serve alcohol, beer and cocktails. Target hopes to set up a bar to make the shopping experience even more enjoyable. It might catch on because I know that Target trips usually last for a couple hours and who wouldn’t want to stop for a break and enjoy a cocktail?

The bar would be available to guests 21 years and older and guests would not be allowed to walk around the store carrying their beverage, but can enjoy it sitting at the bar.

There are already a few stores and grocery stores that have bars inside of them, so it isn’t anything new, but it would be for Target. I like the idea and think they will be able to do something like this responsibly and it will be a big hit. You never know, something like this could catch on and become more popular.

What do you think? Would you enjoy an alcoholic beverage at Target?
