Finally, summer is here. A great place to vacation during this time of year is Key West, Florida. It is home to some of the best beaches and nightlife. Not to mention, the food is out of this world.

Many people travel to Florida for Spring Break, but that can get expensive. If you keep your eye on the weather and travel to the Keys when there isn’t a hurricane, than summer is the best time to go.

First, you will need to find a place to stay. The Mermaid and the Alligator has to be one of the coolest places. An old early 1900s Victorian home, is now a bed and breakfast that offers a complimentary breakfast right next to the pool.

There are plenty of beaches to head to for the day. You can lounge in hammocks or swim in the blue water. The beaches really are paradise, full of palm trees and white sands. Certain beaches are great for surfing, while others are better for just relaxing.

Of course there is tons to do in Key West besides lounge at the beach. The Hemingway House and Museum are cool places to visit. Hemingway was a beloved author and guests are welcome to tour the house he lived and wrote at for more than 10 years.

After dark is when the party gets started. Key West is known to have an amazing nightlife, for locals and visitors. You can go salsa dancing and mingle with out tourists and even the locals.

Key West has the best authentic Cuban food. El Siboney is a local favorite. This is a t is the go to place for a yummy Cuban mix sandwich for lunch. Just be prepared for to wait in line, the place gets busy.

Key West has something for everyone and is guaranteed to be a blast. So grab your friends and swimsuit and head to Key West for your summer vacation.
