Ice cream is a delicious summer treat. You can always choose from the originals, vanilla or chocolate. Or you can head to these places to try some outrageous ice cream flavors that I can guarantee you have never even dreamed of.

Lobster

Of course Maine is famous for their lobster so it makes sense that one of the most popular odd flavors in the area is lobster ice cream. Ben & Bill’s in Ben Harbor, Maine takes handfuls of buttered and fresh lobster meat and mix it into a butter-flavored ice cream. It has been around since 1988 and continues to become a local favorite.

Veggies and prosciutto

You can get veggies, cheese and even prosciutto in your ice cream at Oddfellows in Brooklyn. The ice cream place even has an ice cream that is like a salad full of goat cheese, beet and pistachio flavor. Other flavors include malt, maitake, prosciutto and melon.

 Habañero bacon avocado

It gets hot in Scottsdale, Arizona and so does their ice cream. The Food Network’s Alton Brown has declared Sweet Republic’s toffee banofi sundae his favorite ice cream concoction. However, the most unique item at the ice cream joint is the habañero bacon avocado. You can also try their coconut cashew curry or their honey blue cheese ice cream.

Pressed Juicery in Los Angeles makes an ice cream juice cleanse that is one of the healthiest ice creams out there. It is pretty much green juice that is in the form of ice cream. It is has kale, spinach, parsley, romaine lettuce, cucumber, celery and dates. The roots flavor is made with beets, carrots and ginger.

Wild ginger

Bushtucker Icecream has ice cream made with ingredients like mallee honey, lilly pilly, kakadu plum and wattleseed. The kakadu plum tastes similar to something like vanilla apricot. But the lilly pilly wild ginger is one of the most obscure flavors. It is actually really good, but has a sharp bite to it.
