Must Have Tools for Your Home Bar

The luxury of making your own delicious cocktails at home starts with having the right bar equipment. You can save a lot of money by mixing and drinking your cocktails at home, as long as you have your home bar stocked with these must have supplies.

Space

First, you have to make sure you have enough room! This all depends on what type of cocktails you are looking to make, but you should have fun with this. You want to have a nice place to store your mixers, glasses and other bar tools. And never forget those napkins and coasters! Set up a bar area that is easy to work around and is also accessible to all that you need. If you want, you can really get into it and look the part by going all out and decorating your bar area to have it replicate a real bar.

Glasses

These are a must! You can’t just serve your drinks in plastic cups and not all cocktails are served the same. Tumblers are a type of glass that you should stock up on. Make sure to get ones that have a really thick-bottom to prevent them from spilling. Shorter tumblers are ideal for drinks on the rocks or Old-Fashions. Also get some taller tumblers for your mojitos and gin and tonics. Every home bar should be stocked with cocktail glasses. These glasses are perfect for sipping your favorite martini. And they are great for adding a sugar rim to those Lemon Drop martinis. If you are looking to serve up mimosas during brunch or celebrating with some champagne, always use flute glasses, especially on holidays and special occasions. A wine goblet is a must for all your wine lovers, especially red wine lovers! Plus, these goblets are usually the perfect size. For some good old beer, it is best served in a pilsner glass instead of serving it up in the can or bottle.

Other Bar Tools

For a complete home bar, make sure that you have plenty of booze so you can make a variety of cocktails. To look like a real professional, stock up on cocktail shakers, strainers, shot glasses (for measuring), stirring sticks, wine corks, wine buckets and of course a muddler for those refreshing mojitos! Also a must, fresh fruit to garnish those amazing cocktails!
