Outside Lands an Essentials Packing List For the Ladies

I know what we are all thinking… It’s actually cold in San Francisco! Who isn’t looking forward to heading north and escaping the heat…

Not only that, but Outside Lands is truly one of my all time favorite music festivals. Why? I think music festivals in the past years have grown and attracted a lot of attention. The crowds get bigger and louder, line ups get stronger and the fashion gets fiercer. It’s rare for me nowadays to think ahead and not completely freak out about having to seek out the perfect bohemian outfits and, as a result, suffer from several mental breakdowns the week prior.

OSL is different because San Francisco as a whole prides itself in putting emphasis on its vibrant spiritual life. Thanks to the beautiful green spaces, mountains and beaches that surround San Fran, it’s easy to put the city a short distance away and reconnect with nature.

As a result I think OSL is a way more relaxed festival that allows you to put everything on hold and focus on having a good time with god company and enjoying the music without having to worry about the aesthetics behind festivals nowadays. That being said, a girl can’t completely disregard her packing list, but instead of stuffing that extra choker or scarf in your bag, we put together this perfect light packing list with some of our favorite essentials.

A flannel

I love me a girl with a flannel around the waist, but this is not just a fashion incentive, a thick flannel around the waist will rid you for having to carry a light jacket around. It gets chilly once dusk hits in San Fran and the only thing worse than a girl that is cold is a cold on a girl the next day.

(Some of our favorites are from Urban Outfitters)

Dry shampoo

If you are anything like me you are trying to avoid having to wash dry and style your hair everyday during the weekend. Not only is this a huge pain in the ass, it is also a big waste of time! You are not here to waste time on your hair you are here to enjoy some bomb live music! Usually I will go into the festival Friday with nice clean hair and will hold off until Sunday to actually wash it. Dry shampoo will leave your hair manageable, looking clean, and smelling good.

(Personal favorite is Batiste)

Sunglasses

we feel the same way about sunglasses as we do about the flannel. Not only a fashion statement, but a necessity when Sunday afternoon hits and you’ve been partying till sunrise everyday. This is really a way put away any insecurities of how the weekend might have taken a toll on your complexion. You’ll worry about it when you get back to reality, but for now put on those sunglasses and enjoy. One thing you absolutely can’t forget to pack this summer is a lovely piece of jewellery, take a look at Berganza who have a fabulous range of jewellery.

(Personally don’t take anything expensive because I don’t want to hate myself when I lose it)

Vitamins

Bring a small pharmacy if you must! Anything from climate change to a differing lifestyle pattern for the weekend can take weird tolls on your body. Make sure to bring anything from simple advil medicine, to that secret daily medication that you won’t tell anyone about. You can’t fully enjoy a weekend like this unless you are at your fullest, to chance it could lead to huge disappointment!

(GNC has my favorite 7 day travel pack pill box)

Solar powered phone charger

You never think you’ll need it until you realize it’s probably the only thing you needed to bring on the trip. Nothing worse than losing your crew and realizing your phone is dead and your charger is miles away.

Make up wipe removers

Leave the makeup removing routine back home and make life easier for yourself by just carrying these babies around. They are easy, inexpensive and will leave your skin clean and refreshed. The less work for you, the better.

Small backpack/ fanny-pack

Essential such as your water and the your mobile phone charger need to be with you at all times. You could also keep your dry shampoo in there in case you went too hard for grimes. We love the freedom that it gives you and it renders also the perfect spot for you to put your phone away (and for god sake put your phone away).
