The ever so popular San Diego Comic-Con International kicks off on July 9th. Each year, the convention seems to get bigger and bigger with more events and celebrities. It is a great reason to travel to San Diego and this year I think is going to be one of the biggest and most successful Comic-Cons yet.

San Diego has hosted the world famous event since the 1970s. It is a four-day event that showcases everything from comic books to science fictions shows and movies to horror shows and movies to anime and to so much more. The convention really covers it all and is one of the largest of its kind in North America.

The convention has seen as many as 130,000 people in attendance. It is held at the San Diego Convention Center. Downtown San Diego will be full of people dressed up in cosplay costumes and walking around the city for four days straight. It is a huge deal to some people and fans wait all year for this. However, there is a new rule this year. No selfie sticks are allowed at San Diego Comic-Con this year. That is kind of a bummer, but it is a trend more large events are participating in.

Even without selfie sticks, it will be a great time. The convention will have a number of panels, seminars, workshops and more. There will be a lot of celebrities attending and a chance to do a meet and greet. You can also be sure to check a majority of the creators and writers from your favorites. Some cool events happening this year is the majority of the Walking Dead cast will be there and will release a trailer of AMC’s new show, Fear the Walking Dead. It is the highly anticipated spinoff that premiers in August and so far, we haven’t been told much about it. Also, The Games of Thrones Panel will sure be a hit. Seth Myers will monitor the panel so it should be a pretty interesting.
