The Hotel Le Méridien just opened in downtown New Orleans and it is all it has promised it would be. The downtown area has been revitalized in the last ten years since Hurricane Katrina hit. It is full of great restaurants and hotels and the newest hotel fits right in with a unique spin on a large hotel in New Orleans.

The new hotel was the former W Hotel, but it went under a $29 million dollar remodel that took years to complete. The Hotel Le Méridien has a high-rise building with 410 rooms. The entire hotel has a cute boutique style to it with nice European interior décor that gives an international yet local feel.

The lobby is called the hub and has a bar with very comfortable seating. The LMNO Restaurant inside the hotel is delicious and serves traditional New Orleans favorites. The Le Méridien is a very calming place that is a great escape from the busy city. Plus it is only about 20 miles from the airport. Just beware that the valet parking is pretty expensive, starting at $42 dollars.

The rooms are very simple and sleek, but also very nice. Each room is modern with minimal furniture. Everything in the room is comfortable and has a purpose. The hotel has 22 suites and some of the rooms have fantastic views of the Mississippi river. Other rooms have a view of downtown New Orleans.

New Orleans’ newest hotel is conveniently located downtown and in the middle of everything. It is the perfect location for tourists. It is also an ideal place to stay when in town for business since a lot of the rooms come with an open workspace. The Le Méridien has only been open for a few months, but I am sure it will become one of the hot spots to stay in New Orleans.
