Known worldwide for famous sites such as the Eye, Big Ben, and of course, Buckingham Palace, London is also becoming well known for it’s growing popularity as a clubbing paradise. From the late night bars to cocktail havens to the ever popular DJ clubs, it is our goal to introduce those seeking to party like a VIP to the absolute best nightlife the city has to offer.
The Ministry of Sound
When asking those with their finger on the pulse of the city’s club scene, one name is certain to be mentioned without fail – Ministry of Sound. Opened in 1991 by Old Etonian the Hon. James Palumbo, the nightclub itself is built in the image of the internationally known Paradise Garage Club located in New York. The Ministry offers 3 weekly club nights as a venue with Fridays featuring mainly trance music. Saturday offerings are mainly house music.
XOYO
Old Street’s XOYO is known throughout London as a haven welcoming crowds of clubbers and music-lovers from not only the streets of London but the world beyond. Celebrated for enticing top-shelf DJs to fill the night with their dazzling light shows and body vibrating sounds, XOYO is the place for those who delight in house music, disco, and techno. Those looking to enjoy a night on the town with 10 or more of their closest friends can take advantage of the nightclub’s party group bookings and enjoy free entry before 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays.
Phonox
Brought to the city by the same team responsible for XOYO and The Nest, Phonox welcomes clubbers who seek to partake in a fabulous experience week in and week out. The club aims to host world-class DJs in an environment to match. Friday nights see one guest DJ pump out the beats while Saturday nights are handled by the club’s resident DJ. Offering up the best in house music, techno beats, disco soul, and much more, Phonox is hands down one of the top ranking clubs for DJ magic.
Village Underground
With a renovated turn of the century warehouse to call home, Village Underground is located in East London’s trendy Shoreditch neighborhood and offers a wealth of things to love – from it’s unpretentious crowd to its captivating style and a wide variety of music offerings. Considering itself to be a constantly evolving project for culture and creativity, the Village Underground offers all of the ‘character’ other nightclubs claim to possess.
The Prince of Wales
The south side of the city offers a unique locale in the Prince of Wales. Not only is the PoW a nightclub, but it’s also a pub, a restaurant and also a roof terrace, making this club a no-brainer for those looking to spend their evening actually in the club rather than waiting in a series of long lines known to accompany the city’s diverse nightlife. In the summer months the terrace – which is quite probably the best of any club in the whole of the city itself – features parties headed up by top crews. With many house music and techno legends stopping in to make appearances, the PoW is truly one of the most multifaceted clubs around.
