Nestled in Sonoma County the Farmhouse Inn is a romantic ranch experience that is perfect for a spring or early summer getaway. My friends Beth and Cherish just visited the scenic California inn to renew their vows and try some of the countries finest wines.
What I like about it: The Farmhouse Inn is in close proximity to a plethora of wineries in the surrounding hills. There is also plenty of relaxation to be had at the hotel itself. The rooms are rustic-chic and are sure to please even the most snooty of your friends and family if you are planning an event. Additionally, the Inn is only a 90-minute drive from San Francisco so it is perfect if you are staying for a week and want to make a day trip to visit the haight-ashbury district or see Alcatraz.
Favorite parts: I love that this hotel is built to lull you into a very homey, comforting state of relaxation. Unlike larger resorts there is not a huge level of lavishness the lighting in each of the rooms is very cool and you won’t be seeing gold encrusted armoires or anything like that at the Farmhouse Inn. There is an incredible spa where you can lay out and uses ingredients from a nearby farm for ginger and honey. Hang back and enjoy a lavender body-butter massages. Adirondack chairs are scattered around the entirety of the facility. Farmhouse Inn also is host to various fire-pits, a pool, and the front porch.
Finally, the restaurant. The restaurant boast an incredible wine list and some really elegant dishes that borrows from local farms. The menu is a little pricey but the food is delicious I would recommend the Sonoma duck breast with candied kumquats.
So visit the Farmhouse Inn the next time you are looking for a simple luxury getaway.
