After watching a full week of sharks on Shark Week, what better time to go explore these mystical creatures yourself. There are some great spots across the county that gives you the most up-close and personal shark experience. Experienced divers have the chance to swim with sharks at these prime locations.

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas

You can even see sharks in the desert. Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada is home to a 1.3 million gallon shark aquarium. The aquarium offers visitors up close views of several types of shark species like the sandtiger shark, the sandbar shark, the white tip reef shark and much more underwater wildlife. Even certified scuba divers can dive with the sharks in the aquarium without a cage.

Montauk in New York

The Atlantic Ocean is home to a lot different species of sharks. It may not be the best place to go swimming because of all of the large and unique sea creatures, but it is an ideal spot to go shark diving. You can scuba dive off the coast of Montauk in Long Island. Divers are able to see sharks like the mako, thresher and blue sharks. Sometimes, you can even see a dozen of these sharks at one time.

Point Judith in Rhode Island

Another popular spot for shark diving in the Atlantic Ocean is at Point Judith in Rhode Island. Divers have the opportunity to come face to face with blue sharks and mako sharks. Blue sharks are the most common in this area and are considered to be the most cooperative when taking photos. There are adventures in June and July that offer a look at the basking shark.
