Moon River Brewery in Georgia
The oldest building in Savannah, Georgia opened as a brewery in 1999. But before it was serving up beers, the building was a City Hotel back in 1821. The expensive hotel is filled with a lot of history from the Civil War. It is said that men were murdered in the hotel. Bar guests have reported that they have seen bottles fly through the air and have even felt being touched and pushed.
Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is West Virginia
The asylum in West Virginia used to be known as the Weston State Hospital back in 1864. It housed thousands of mentally ill patients. Hundreds of the patients ended up dying at the facility and it closed down in 1994. During the Civil War era, it was used as a military post. Spirits of the military personal and patients haunt the spot today. The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum offers 2-hour paranormal tours that take guests to four spots that are known to be the most haunted. There is also an 8-hour ghost hunt, which is an overnight paranormal experience with ghost-hunters.
Villisca Axe Murder House in Iowa
Back on June 10, 1912, a gruesome crime took place at the house at 508 East Second Street in a small Iowa town. The family of Josiah Moore, which included his wife, his 4 children and 2 young girls who were visiting, were brutally murdered. It stunned the small country town and they never did find out who was responsible. Residents of the home have said they have seen visions of a man holding an ax and have heard children crying. There have also been a number of unexplained paranormal activities reported. The home was restored in 1994 to its original condition with no electricity or plumbing. The grisly home hosts lamplight tours from April to November. Overnight experiences are also available.
