Knott’s Berry Farm turns into Knott’s Scary Farm every Halloween and each year gets spookier and spookier. Monsters lurk behind every corner and there are thrilling attractions across the fog-covered park.
This year’s Knott’s Scary Farm has 11 haunted attractions and over 1,000 monsters. The park uses scare actors who know how to be creepy. A lot of mazes have returned this year and all of them have new scary details. Guests will be able to venture through mazes like Forevermore, Black Magic, Trick or Treat, The Tooth Fairy, Voodoo, Pinocchio Unstrung, Gunslinger’s Grave, The Calico Mine Ride and three new mazes, The Dead of Winter, My Bloody Clementine and Paranormal Inc.
The Forevermore maze has been going on for four years and is based on Edgar Allen Poe’s creepy stories. Gus Krueger designed the maze and it seems like there are more blind spots than ever, plus the passageways seem a lot smaller, which makes it even more terrifying. These changes definitely add on to the scare factor. Guests try to find their way through the crazy maze while avoiding a serial killer who is on the loose and chasing them.
The new maze, Paranormal Inc, might be the most terrifying maze of all. It takes place in a haunted insane asylum and takes guests on an adventure with an intriguing storyline. There is so much detail throughout the whole maze and it might be one of the best attractions Knott’s has done in a very long time. It would be a good idea to even go through it twice to catch all of the spooky details. It really is an experience and makes you feel like you are really in a haunted asylum. At the beginning of the maze, they even tell guests that the amount of electric energy released will cause you to not know the difference between the real world and terrifying realms.
