Arizona is known for some beautiful tourist spots, but many people don’t think of Southern Arizona when they hear about the state. But there are actually some really cool tourists attractions to check out if you catch yourself in the southern part of Arizona.

Tombstone is a historic western city located in southern Arizona. It is known for their history of gunfights, dusty streets and Wyatt Earp. A lot of old western movies have been filmed here. The town calls itself The Town Too Tough To Die. It was founded back in 1879 and continues to be one of Arizona’s biggest tourist destinations. Visitors can really experience what it was like back in the old western days with mock gunfights, shows and the look of the wild wild west.

Benson, Arizona is home to Kartchner Caverns State Park. The caverns have been open to the public since 1974 and give visitors a look at stunning stalactites and stalagmites. The park also offers cave tours, a discovery center, interactive displays and 62 campsites. It is a great spot to go hiking too.

Kitt Peak National Observatory

Kitt Peak National Observatory is located in Tucson and is known to have the most diverse and largest collection of astronomical instruments in the world. It is located on Kitt Peak in the Arizona-Sonoran Desert, which is an ideal spot to look at the stars. The observatory homes 24 optical telescopes and 2 radio telescopes. It is a great place to visit for any astronomy lover.

Titan Missile Museum

The museum in Sahuarita was once one of America’s top-secret places. It is now a National Historical Landmark. The museum gives visitors a one of a kind look at the technology behind the United States to prevent nuclear war. It is home to an underground missile site where guests can see the 3-ton blast doors and 8-foot thick silo walls. Other attractions include seeing a titan II missile and experience a simulated launch. Guests can also check out the launch control center.
