Fourth of July is this weekend and there are many places to go to catch some spectacular fireworks. All across the country, cities will be celebrating Independence Day with a bang. Here are some spots you cannot miss.
Boston
A great place celebrate Independence Day is in Boston. They host a six-day festival called Harborfest that showcases the heritage of the American Revolution. It is not only one of the largest 4th of July celebrations, but also one of the best in the country. The festival offers free concerts, Revolutionary re-enactments, educational seminars, museum exhibits and much more. Harborfest attracts over 2.5 million every year.
Philadelphia
Philadelphia is home to The Philly 4th of July Jam and Grand Fireworks Finale. The festival is one of the nation’s largest celebrations on 4th of July. There is free live music and guests can catch fireworks lighting up the night sky over the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Miguel and Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland will rock the stage starting around 8pm. Fireworks are scheduled to start around 10:30pm.
Miami
The City of Miami Beach is hosting an all-day 4th of July event called Fire on the Fourth Festival. The festival will have plenty of food trucks, DJs, live music and even a ton of activities for children. It is a fun experience for the whole family. The festival will kick off around 9am and fireworks are expected to light up over North Shore Park Bandshell starting around 9pm.
Virginia Beach
Stars and Stripes Explosion will attract thousands to Virginia Beach this year. There will be live performances in front of the ocean. Guests can listen to patriotic and Motown music, including a special a tribute to Billy Joel. The live performances will take place around 8pm. Fireworks over the beautiful boardwalk of Virginia Beach will start around 9:30pm.
Cedar Rapids
The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is a two-week event that leads up to a terrific fireworks show. The festival starts in June and is a great place for the whole family, especially if you are looking to celebrate in the Midwest. A lot of the events are pet friendly and the festival offers great food, concerts and even farmers markets. Over 70 events draws in thousands of people every 4th of July. The festival is also home to the largest fireworks display in Iowa.
