Blues and brews come together this weekend at the annual Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. The festival combines great music with a number of tasty microbreweries from around the region. And all of this takes places in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
The 3-day festival kicks off on September 18th and is a celebration of blues, funk, indie, rock and soul performances. The Telluride Blues and Brews Festival boast it is the most scenic and intimate event.
ZZ Top, Gregg Allman, Anders Osborne, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings will be just some of the performances you can catch at the festival. Plus, there will be 56 microbreweries offering over 170 different types of beer. A variety of food vendors and craft vendors will also fill the festival grounds and there will even be activities for children.
The official beer sponsor of the festival is Sierra Nevada, but guests can also enjoy brews from Fate Brewing Company, Flagstaff Brewing Company, Odell Brewing Company, Telluride Brewing Company, Zion Canyon Brew Pub and more. The festival is also offering free filtered water to all festivalgoers.
The Telluride Blues and Brews Festival is really trying to focus on recycling this year. There will be plenty of trashcans and recycling bins to push guests to not trash the area. They hope to keep the scene clean and green.
The former mining town might be best known for its ski resorts, but the beautiful town also brings in a number of festivals each year. The weather in Colorado this time of year is perfect for an outdoor event full of music and beers.
Another bonus is that Tellurides Main Street is not far from the festival grounds. The street is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and is full of a variety of little shops, delicious restaurants and fun bars. Campsites are available or there are also lodges nearby. Tickets are still available so it is never too late to go!
