Thursdays at New York City’s Seaport

Looking for a new place to hangout on Thursday night? Manhattan’s South Street Seaport is the place to be. The area has been rebuilt since Hurricane Sandy and is now home to fun bars, delicious eateries and some pretty cool shops.

First, start the late afternoon off by munching on some snacks at Seaport Smorgasburg. With eight different New York City street vendors to choose from, there is something tasty for everyone. There are plenty of picnic tables to sit at that are surrounded by gorgeous cobblestoned streets.

After enjoy some appetizers, take a stroll down Seaport Studios. There are a handful of different, unique shops that sale amazing independent brands that are hard to find. For a little more shopping, head on over to the Seaport Culture District. After you are done hitting the stores, you can enjoy the beautiful and great art exhibits that fill the area.

When it is time for dinner, there is no better place than Ambrose Beer and Lobster. On Thursday nights, the restaurant has live music from local musicians. There is always different beer on tap and the salads are a great way to start your meal. The menu is full of delicious lobster creations like the lobster-grilled cheese.

At the end of the night, you can’t forget to check out the local’s favorite water hole, Fresh Salt. It is named after the buildings front antique look from when it was a smokehouse a century ago. The bar is a lot of fun and full of friendly locals. The drinks are made perfectly and are very cheap considering it is a bar in Manhattan. If you are really having a good time, feel free to stay all night because Fresh Salt doesn’t close till 4am.
