It is the most wonderful time of year and that means the best cheerful Christmas music is playing in every store and on every station. There have been a number of classic Christmas songs that have hit the airwaves over the years, but these few really top the list as the best!
Bing Crosby’s White Christmas
Something about Bing Crosby really puts you in the Christmas spirit. He has done a handful of Christmas songs and they are all great, but his version of White Christmas is one of his very best. It really makes you visualize a beautiful and white Christmas and takes you back to childhood holidays. Crosby’s White Christmas has sold over 31 million copies and might just be the most popular Christmas song of them all.
Wham!’s Last Christmas
Last Christmas by Wham! was released in 1984 and became an instant hit. Several different artists have covered it, but none of them compete with the original. It is a more recent song compared to other classic Christmas tunes, but it definitely is at the top as one of the greatest.
Chuck Berry’s Run Rudolph Run
Run Rudolph Run by Chuck Berry is one of the very best rock and roll Christmas songs to date. It was released in 1958 and Berry was the first to record the song and he really made it famous. A huge list of artists has covered the song and has done a really good job, but it is hard to compete with Chuck Berry.
Eartha Kitt’s Santa Baby
Eartha Kitt released Santa Baby all the way back in 1953 and the song has been a Christmas classic ever since. The song is about a lady who wants the most extravagant gifts from Santa. Some of those gifts include decorations from Tiffany’s, yachts and a sable, which is a fur coat by the way.
