New Smyrna Beach located in Volusia County Florida, is home to the most recorded shark attacks than anywhere else on Earth. This stretch of beach on the East Coast happens to attract a lot of bull shark. Around 37% of all shark attacks in Florida happen at this beach. They have over 200 reported bites, but luckily none have been fatal.

Kalalau Trail, Hawaii

The Kalalau Trail in Hawaii offers beautiful views of the island, but it poses multiple dangers. The paths are very narrow and at heights that make could make a hiker very dizzy. There are also treacherous beaches were over 100 people have drowned. The trail is located on the island of Kauai and is a strenuous 11-mile hike. It is for expert hikers and will even take an average hiker a couple days to complete. The nearby streams can rise quickly, which can cause hikers to slip on the narrow path. Hikers also have to watch out for mudslides.

Hanakapiai, Hawaii

Another dangerous spot in Hawaii is located on Kauai’s Napali Coast. The beautiful beach is 2-miles long and isn’t just famous for photographs. It is also famous for signs that warn hikers to not go near the water because unseen currents have killed visitors. In the winter, there are very powerful waves and high tides. This causes the shoreline to wash away. The rip currents make it a very dangerous place to swim and many people have been killed there.

Denali National Park, Alaska

Centered on the highest mountain in North America, Denali National Park is 6 million acres full of beautiful scenery. It is a great place to hike, if you stay away from the bears. Grizzlies are often spotted on the mountain, but if you keep your distance, you will not need to worry. Never hike alone, keep food packed and stay away from the mama bears.

Canyonlands National Park, Utah

This is one of the most dangerous hiking spots in the country. Canyonlands National Park is where Aron Ralston had to amputate his arm after he got pinned under a boulder. His story was later told in the film 127 hours. A lot of hikers get lost and fall of ledges. It can get very warm and hikers must be hydrated. It can take people days to recover from dehydration. The park in Southeastern Utah has been described as weird, yet magically beautiful.
